Hurricane Irma Preparation: People are watching us weather our storm. 

For the second time in under a year we are packing up on a beautiful, sunny Florida day to prepare for the mandatory evacuation of our barrier island home. Irma, you can take my home, but you cannot shake my faith!

Our church, Coastline Community Church has a vision to present Christ in a relevant way and to represent Him in every neighborhood on the Space Coast. Church, now is one of those moments when our claims are put to the test. In the midst of the chaos, we are being watched.

While we must use wisdom to prepare properly, may we not be caught up in the storm of emotion and fear. Let there be something different about us as we pack our things, load up our children, and flee our homes. Let it be done with an undeniable sense of calm that carries no other explanation than to say Jesus is the anchor of my soul.

Satan thrives on this kind of uncertainty and madness. As we make our physical preparations let us not deprive our souls of the necessary reinforcements. When you grab the things you cannot live without do not forget to take your Bible! When all else around us gives way, we can stand on the Rock of our salvation! We can walk into the uncertainty holding to the Truth that, come what may, He will work it out to good to those who love Him. (Romans 8:28)
